Is this the zodiac sign for Ophiuchus?
Since A Rosy Outlook designs zodiac pendants for those who believe in astrology, we are interested in the accuracy. What a surprise when we heard that the zodiac signs have changed their dates! Have you always identified with your particular sign only to find that it has been changed? OK, what gives?
Well, NBC's Today Show interviewed astronomer, Parke Kunkle, who said that there has been a shift in the earth's rotation since the zodiac was established thousands of years ago. According to Kunkle, this shift creates a 13th sign for the constellation Ophiuchus or "serpent bearer" which would represent those birthdays falling between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17.

So, what's your sign? With a 13th sign, all the zodiac signs would shift. Below is the only chart I could find to show the new birthdate/zodiac order which does not convince me that the change will be accepted. And, in fact, these dates don't match the Kunkle dates.

All of this seems like great material for Dane Cook and the late night comedians, but is there any truth to it? People are upset, confused and angry out there on the Internet. Many celebs say they won't switch. ABC NEWS debunks the issue in their article here.
There is no debate over whether the constellation Ophiuchus exists. It does. The debate is whether it should be included in the existing zodiac. A famous astrologer in New York City, Lawrence Grecco, responds that astrology is based on time, not space. Is this just an old argument between astronomers and astrologers?
At this point, we're going to wait and see whether this new chart is real or a hoax. What do you think?
